BRP error

Post by frrana » Mon Jul 09, 2012 2:54 pm

Dear All

I was initially granted Tier 1 on 11th May, 2010 for a period of two years.

I applied for Tier 1 extension recently for further three years. Today I received my BRP card and it showed validity till 03/07/2014 from 03/07/2012 which is again a period of two years.

By looking at the policy guidance it should be 3 years of further leave to remain rather than 2 since my initial application was under the rules in place after 6th April, 2010.

Am I right in making the conclusion as above?

If it is the case should I send the e-mail to home office to get it corrected.

I am under a bit of stress. so please reply.

Thank you

Faisal

For any errors on your BRP that need to be corrected, UKBA says -

What must I do when I receive my biometric residence permit?

You must check your permit carefully when you receive it, to ensure that all the details on it are correct. If you find a mistake, you must email BRPerror@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk within 10 working days of receiving the permit - otherwise you may be charged for a replacement and will have to apply again. You must provide us with the following details:
 full name;
 date of birth;
 nationality;
 passport number;
 contact telephone number;
 BRP reference number
 case reference number; and
 exactly what is wrong with the BRP.

Hope that helps, good luck!
