Student Nurse to Registered General Nurse

Hope this will be of help to other Internationally qualified Nurses in UK.
Work Permit application (IED) as a Staff Nurse submitted by employer on 5th October 2006
Work Permit approved for 60 months(5years) on 17th October 2006
FLR(IED) sent to Home Office on 27th October 2006.......waiting for reply and will update as and when info is received.
The Fee of £335 taken from bank account on 31st October

could u please tell me whether the employer advertised for this post? also, i remeber u mentioned earlier yr wife's student nurse visa extended.
one of my sister wants to extend her visa. she hasnt done her adaptation as she failed IELTS test. is it possible for her to extend the visa at Croydon by paying 500 pounds? please reply

Answer 1. My wife's employer had placed ads in Jobcentre Plus, Nhs(Non Nhs organizations) website staff nurse.com and two other websites.
Answer 2. Croydon HO does not accept applications for extension for student nurses you MUST apply by post. You need a letter from a training place (nursing homes/hospital/colleges) stating she is still doing her adaptation or she has joined for a Nursing based course etc...

Passports received from HO with LTR for 5 years on 24.11.2006.
So don't loose hope to the rumors and gossips (of those who are safe with WP and visas) that Overseas Nurses will not get a Work Permit. :idea:
