Passport Application - missed detail by countersignatory

Post by badbug27 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:40 pm

Just realised that the passport counter signatory had forgotten to put their passport number and the form has now been sent. This happened despite using the the Check and Send service. Our own fault for not checking.

Anyway, what will happen now? Will the application be rejected and we have to apply again or they will be kind enough to contact the countersignatory to get their number?

This is for the first adult passport application.

Any help will be great. Many thanks.

Hi that is really mondatory for the countersignatory to be eligible to act for your application. you need to contact the IPS service they may accepte to add the number.

Thanks. Yes, I'm aware of that, and that is the reason I posted. The countersignatory does have a passport but did not have the number hand and forgot to mention he's left it empty. My question is whether they will contact the counter signatory to get their number or will they just send the form back without processing? I will contact the IPS service tomorrow to see if anything can be done.
