Every thing looks fine but my personal suggestion would be to make sure the letter from your employer includes the start dates, and any dates where you've changed your designation or increase in salary. Apart from that your list of documents looks appropriate.

Hi Jeebu

Have you applied for the dependent visa for your wife?
Also, any idea how much time the UK Embassy is taking to process such visa applications in India.

Thirdly, regd the House registry, title, mortgage documents, do we need to submit those in original, or just photocopies and do the photocopies need to be attested?

Thanks in advance.

5. TB Test Certificate
Do we really need the TB test certificate? I did not see it mentioned anywhere in the spouse visa form? Is it supposed to be done before we submit our documents for the visa?

Hi,

Congratulations on your ILR!! Can you please let me know the Visa Category for ILR Dependant? I am currently on ILR and previously was on Tier 1(General). I've seen your previous query about the UKBA 'Can you appply' link creating confusion about the visa category but couldn't get a definitive answer

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... you-apply/

I am getting married in Feb in India and planning to bring my wife along with me. Under what Visa category are you applying your Dependant Visa? Is it the VAF4A Application form that i should be using?

Thank you very much,
Rama

ILR Dependent visa application for family living in India

Post by skittali » Tue Feb 05, 2013 2:38 pm

Hello Guys... I have the same question on what is the application I need to use ?It should be done only online via visa4uk website.
In that link it doesn't say anything about family visa...

I have received my ILR last week and want to get my wife and daughter as my dependents (not settlement). What application do I need to use to apply from outside the UK. I am not able to find the exact application.

Also, what is the maintenance I need to maintain before applying their visa.

Note: My query is not related to my spouse/child settlement visa

Appreciate your suggestions and guidance.

Many Thanks,
Sanjay

Hi Damanisshallo,

1. I meant to get my wife and daughter as my dependents to the UK(not settlement)
My wife and daughter have not stayed continiously in UK. So they don't qualify for settlement.

2. They need to apply from India, so I checked visa4uk which still says settlement, rather than family/spouse visa. So a bit confused.

3. I mean't maintaining funds in bank based on number of dependents you are applying for (e.g. as in tier-1 ~£800 - £1200).

4. Same as #1

I hope it is clear now.

Thanks

You got be using VAF4A Form with Appendix 2. Appendix 2 should answer your query regarding maintenance. The word settlement in VAF4A Form means this visa would lead to settlement.

You shall be using the Online Form to make an application from India. This page should be of some help.

Thanks Damanisshallo. Much appreciated.
In my case, my wief and daughter need to apply from outside the UK (India).
So it is htrought visa4uk website. The site has the option for settlement visa. I think I should be selecting "settlement" as per your suggestion.
Apart from filling the form online do I need to fill VAF4A Form with Appendix 2 and submit ?

I hope I'm not making my query much complicated.

Please let me know.

Thanks

I hope not. But, you should be able to answer these questions yourself. Since, I've not experienced this, I cannot give you a definite answer. However as per the below quote, it looks like they need a hard copy of your online application and I presume the details on Appendix 2 are also filled in the Online Form. If the online form prompts the questions from the Appendix 2, then you don't need to explicitly fill the form but rather get a print of what you've filled and proceed. (Keep an extra copy for yourself though)

As per the Apendix-2,
2.5 How many bedrooms are there in the property? >>>>>>>>
2.6 How many other rooms are there in the property >>>>>>>>
(NOT including bathrooms and toilets)?

Does iit really matter if you have 1 child and living in 1 bedroom flat ?

Thanks
