uk border agency refence number

hello ,
can any one plz tell me where i can find previous Immigration and Nationality Directorate or Border and Immigration Agency or UK Border Agency reference numbers ( page 1 AN application form)? they never send me one they just send me only yours reference number. what if i dont have it?
i received three letters from home office.
1. letter return of my docs . it has details like our refence number but there is nothing written in front of it. next there is yours reference number -----------.
2. letter confirms my application is successful no refernce on it.
3. letter with my brp card.
non of these shows there refernce number. plz some one help.

leave it blank, thats what I have done.
