Can I submit P45 form

Post by ChetanOjha » Tue Jan 16, 2007 4:18 pm

Dear All,

My previous employer doesn't have my P60 form. But he is having my P45 form and will be sending me my P45 form.

Can I show my P45 form in the application as a part of my previous employer's tax returns?

I am not even aware of the difference between P45 and P60.

Please advice.

Thanks
Chetan

A form P45 is issued just after an employee leaves an employment and shows the Pay and Tax for the current tax year, to date.

The P60 is issued to a continuing employee, shortly after each 5th April, showing the Pay and Tax for the tax year that has just ended.

So P45 .... as you have left ... it is totally logical that such a form applies.

Hi John,

Can I have P45 and P60 both from my previous employer?

Please shade some more light on this.

Thanks
Chetan

Both P45 and P60? Well you might, but for different periods of time.

For example say you were working for the employer prior to 06.04.06, and you have left that employer sometime after 05.04.06, you will have both a P60 for the tax year ended 05.04.06, and also a P45 covering from 06.04.06 up to your date of leaving.

What you will not get is both a P45 and a P60 covering the same period of time.

Hi John,

I have received P45 form from my previous employer. But the salary it shows is not the same as it should be.
It shows far less salary than what I have earned.

Will this is a valid proof of income as P45 is a legal document and nobody can put fake information on it.

Also I have only Part1 of the same. Is this should be fine?

Thanks

Chetan, strange, how do the figures on the form P45 compare with those shown on your final payslip?
