Forgot to declare a foreign trip

Post by lifofifo » Tue Jun 25, 2013 11:53 am

I recently (17 June) applied for British citizenship via NCS (work permit + tier 1 + 1 year ILR). After 2 days of that I realised I forgot to mention my switzerland trip of 2 days on the form AN. This wouldn't make any difference to the residential requirements as I'd still be within allowed limits. Should I contact the homeoffice and let them know about his :(?

Please let me know if you guys have any advise.

Just a gentle bump! If you guys have any ideas/suggestions, that'll surely help me sleep better at nights! :)

Well I am not expert with legal matters so can only give my personal opinion. I would recommend you to contact UKBA and let them know about this instead of waiting for them to find out.

I doubt this will be an issue, if the trip was only 2 days then it actually amounts to 0 as you don't count the day you departed or returned.

It was actually 4 days. But amounts to 2 days after discarding the departure and arrival days.

You can write a letter explaining your lapse of concentration. However, providing you we're physically present in the UK 3/5 years prior to the home office receiving your application and if you meet the other requirements there shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I got it in 3 weeks. It's quite common these days if you look at the timeline threads.
