New English test - OCT 2013

Post by Amrit4386 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 11:09 am

Hi,

My wife passed her IELTS test in India back in oct 2011 with a 5.5 band.
Does anybody know if she can use her IELTS test certificate for her SET (M) application plus the life in he uk test?

When will she qualify for settlement? Better yet, when did she enter the UK?

See here (click) for the list of approved tests at page 15 and pay attention to the test validity period.

brilliant, thanks Amber.

But it only lasts for two years, so when we go back to India in December i'll get her to re take the test.

Why not sit it in the UK?

She feels more comfortable sitting it in india, also it would be cheaper especially with the exchange rate now. The teacher that taught her is a friend of the family so would only need 1 or 2 refresher classes then she would sit the exam. Whereas to do it here she would need to sit through a term of classes then sit the exam.
