PR issued in six weeks

Post by slough_Boy » Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:47 am

Hi ,

I received special delivery post 2 hrs ago, and......
my passport endorsed with PR.

applied 21 OCT 2013
PR issued 07 DEC
received today on 13 DEC.
total time taken to issue PR= 6 weeks + 6 days.

I applied exact 5 years of marriage and prepared my case by myself.
I included covering letter with list of documents provided + i submitted all documents in sequence with temporary numbering on it.
I can assure you guys well organised case can reduce time.
Good luck to those who waiting for PR

And keeping the application form and supporting docs to the point and in order always helps.

Now when can I apply Naturalization?
after 6 years of marriage
or
after 12 months of issuing PR.

there is only 1 month and 16 days difference between completion of six years of marriage and PR issue date.

1. If your spouse is now a British Citizen, you can apply now.

2. If your spouse gets British Citizenship before you clock 6 years, then you can apply for BC on the day she receives her naturalisation certificate.

3. You can apply after clocking 6 years

4. You can apply one year after the PR sticker date.

If you apply using option 3, you will have to send the whole bunch of documents you sent for EEA4 application.

If you are not able to or do not want to apply under option 1 or 2, then it will be much easier and straightforward applying using option 4, rather than option 3.

If you apply using option 4, then you do not have to provide documents showing treaty rights exercise for 5 years, that you submitted with your EEA4 application.
