Expired IELTS

Post by salman83 » Thu Jan 23, 2014 9:49 pm

Hi,
Can someone please tell me, is it possible to use expired IELTS which I done in 2006 with a score of 6.0 for my citizenship application. I have used that IELTS certificate for my initial HSMP application in 2008.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

After spending lots of time trying to find an answer to the same question myself, I may conclude that you CAN use an expired IELTS report ONLY if it had already been submitted to UKBA for immigration purposes in the past as part of any application you had made (entry clearance, extension etc).

Hope it helps.

Btw, as I understand, your scores on Listening and Speaking parts must be at least 4.

Hi,

we know that we can use the expired IELTS test result. But it is necessary that expired has been used in the past for uk immigration?

can someone tell, i have expired IELTS test result but that was not used in UK immigration in the past instead it was used for Canada immigration. Is this expired IELTS result acceptable for the UKBA.

Thanks for answering

Masoud, the document states that it is OK to use an expired test result for settlement or naturalisation.

Hi

I know this thread is old, just wanted to say that my husband had an IELTS certificate from 2010 that he did for our 2 yr Spouse visa to the UK. He used this same certificate dated 2010 to apply for British citizenship in 2014 and he had no issues. The certificate says on it that it's recommended that it is renewed after 2 years....but that didn't make a difference. How can someone's English get worse if they have moved to the UK since taking the test? Some people have taken another test specifically for the citizenship not realising they can use their old one.
