8 weeks result

Hi ,
I saw that many people are getting the letter from HO mention with"their result will be taken in 8weeks"
It is only applicable to those who applied after 31december 2013?

As I have applied on 28dec and my file received by them on30th dec and I got acknowledgement letter dated 31december 2013 so do you think will I get result in 8 weeks or I have to wait more than 6 months?

As mentioned by another member. and in my personal opinion 8 weeks thing is nothing but an attempt to justify their unnecessary delay.

From January 2014, its written on the acknowledgement letter that you will get response in 8 weeks, which is written in the circular issued by home office on January 13, 2014. applicants applied before december 31, getting letter to get decided in 8 weeks.
