Tier -1 (second extension) but passport is about to expire

Hi,

My Tier-1 (General) visa expires in Jul-2015 (i.e., next year). I am planning to apply for extension in Jun-2015, but my passport has validity only until July-2016.

So, will my visa extension be given for next 3 years or is it only until passport expiration date. If only until passport expiry date, then I will be missing 2 years of stay validity.

Is there any solution for this?

Passport expiry date has nothing to do with extension.

So, when I apply for extension in Jun-2015 as per current conditions I should get visa validity until Jun-2018 (3 years extension). But my passport will expire in Jul-2016 - even then will I get 3 years extension?

Sorry I might be asking same question again but I just want to be sure about it.

Yes... but at least 6 months validity is recommended by UKBA... most countries allow to renew passport as early as 1 year before expiry...

By the time I apply for extension my Passport should be valid for more than a year, so believe it is ok.
