It took exactly three months to get an approval letter:

EU national, living in Ireland over ten years
Application Date: Fri 10th January 2014 (by registered post)
1st Acknowledgment Date: Fri 24th January 2014 (receipt of statutory fee of 175 euros and given reference number, informing me about proceeding to the first stage - checking if I have all relevant requested documents submitted etc.)
2nd Acknowledgment Date: Thu 27/02/2004 (informing me proceeding successfully to the second stage - documents checked, awaiting for reports, ie. Garda, if satisfactory, minister will make a decision on my application)
Letter of approval Date: Thu 24/04/2014 (asking for fee of 950 euros and 2 photographs, copy of my passport)
Documents submitted Date: Mon 24/04/2014

Invitation letter Date TBC

Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how many people are allowed to bring to a ceremony???

My wife's application:

Application Basis: Spouse of Irish citizen (stamp 4)
Sent by Registered Post: 17th June 2014
Received by INIS: 19th June 2014 (it went from Dublin to Tipperary to Roscommon to Tipperary again )
1st Acknowledgment Date:
2nd Acknowledgment Date:
Letter of approval Date:
Documents submitted Date:
Invitation letter Date:
Ceremony Date:

I'm kind of concerned they might reject it as we made two silly mistakes:

1. My wife put down the wrong place of birth, and then she used TIppex to correct it (the form says do not use correction fluid)
2. On the postal order, I wrote "Secretary General, Department of Justice Equality and Law Reform" in the PAY:....... part, not on the AT:........ part of the postal order, so I hope they can still cash it...................

Hi, with regards to the postal order, I made the same mistake and they cashed it , so no worries about the postal order. However with regards to the other part - i am not sure considering they mentioned dont use corrective fluid. Hopefully they will overlook that part.

Good luck

On the reverse page it clearly states that you should send it to the undersign i.e the initial processing team, name under the signature.Once u send it,u'll get second stage letter within 2 weeks. If u send original, they'll keep it, u can get it certified, never send a copy without being certified.

At the end of the letter, it says Please Quote your Application Reference Number on all future correspondence with this office.
Yours sincerely

Name person XXXX

Do i need to Quote my Application Reference Number on the envelope and also address it to the Name person(been the sender) or what?

@ janet0001

They've just asked for a proof of address for 2011, which I sent in November.
Yes, in March they mentioned the 2nd stage and 6 months timeframe for non-complicated cases.

Just wondering if my case is complicated. I've been working here for 6 years on work permit for a large IT company. No fines etc.
