Form Filling Questions - Confused

Post by saqib389 » Wed May 21, 2014 8:08 pm

Hi There,

I have got ILR this week.

My Child was born back in 2013 and was my dependent untill now.

As now i have got ILR so i can apply his british passport.

I am not filling MN1 form for him and have few questions about below points:

Form i am filling in: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... rm_mn1.pdf (hope that's the correct form ? )

Question 1
In 3.1 section it says this:
1 Please say which parent is the one who is a British citizen by descent and on whom this application is based.
Father or Mother

Can you please advise what should i fill this in 3.1 section as i have ILR not british passport

Question 2:
In 1.36 section -- Date mother became settled in the UK (e.g. granted indefinite leave to remain)

My Son's mother doesn't have ILR so what do i need to fill in there ?

Question 3:
What's the total fee of this application and which page do i need to fill in for Fee as i can't seem to find it.

I can see here it says here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... r_2014.pdf

Do i need to pay £669 in total for my son's application ?

But when i see here then i see the total fee is £46 here:
https://www.gov.uk/passport-fees

Very Confused what to pay.

Please advise on above 3 questions, i will be very thank full.

Thanks,
Amn

See Children section in the FAQs link below and the links within the section to the guidance and fees

You are not applying for a passport so why are you looking at passport fees.

You are applying to Register your child as a British Citizen, passport comes after certificate is received.

Pls read the children section in the Frequently Asked Questions I have posted.

Q2 Under Application Form in the link says
Q2: Which documents are needed for registration as BC?

If applying under section 1(3) (child born in the UK to parents who now at least one parent holds ILR), the following documents are required:

- Original full UK birth certificate for the child (with the ILR parent named on it).
- Original child passport (if has one).
- Parent's passport showing ILR / BRP. (photocopies of all pages are accepted)
- Marriage certificate (if child born before 2006)
So copies will suffice but you need to photocopy every page of your passport.

The fee payment sheet is last page in the link below which is also linked as 'fees' in the FAQs link I provided

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... r_2014.pdf

Chapter 5 page 33 very clearly states where to send the form. Again, the link to the guide is in the FAQs link I have already provided.

Obviously if she doesn't have ILR you can't fill in a date. Leave it blank. You can provide any additional information on page 14 if necessary.

Thanks for your help, make sense.

Would you please kindly provide your thoughts on below questions:

Section 6 Consent to the Application

As my child is just 14 months old so i am filling his form on behalf of him.

Question 1
Can you please advise what should i write in 6.4 section - do i need to fill this in as i am the father of child so i asusme it would be treated as Guardian ?

in 6.4 it says
I am authorised to act as guardian by
either the court at _____________________ or
the child’s father or mother WHOSE CONSENT IS ATTACHED

Question 2:
Do i need to leave Section 2 Blank as my Son was born in UK. ?

Thank you very much in advance.
