ILR - Tier 1 Gen, Self Employed, Absence explanation

Post by mkraja » Thu Dec 04, 2014 2:52 pm

Hi all, Im applying for my ILR by end of December. I have been self employed since I got Tier 1 Gen in January 2010. I have a total of 263 days absences from UK in the 5 years. breakdown and reasons are as follows:

25/05/2014 - 07/06/2014 (13 days) Family Visit
01/10/2013- 22/10/2013 (22 days) Family Visit
03/05/2013 - 16/06/2013 (45 days) Pilgrimage + family
16/04/2013 - 16/04/2013 <1 Social
15/10/2012 - 04/11/2012 (21 days) Family Visit
28/08/2011 - 21/09/2011 (25 days) Family Visit
21/02/2011 - 09/04/2011 (48 days) Paternity (Birth of my daughter abroad)
27/03/2010 - 23/06/2010 (89 days) Own marriage abroad + pilgrimage

Can someone help how these family visits fit with UKBA's requirements that absences should be work related?
Also any template regarding absence explanation letter by a self employed Tier 1 Gen with family visits please?

you have very limited absences, you will be ok
the requirement is not that they be work related, you are quite within expectations for a holiday
plus obviously marriage and honeymoon and such
just write a letter and basically write what you wrote here
the important thing is that none of them were for a reason of economic activity based abroad
**Please note, you can no longer contact me by PM because owners of this board accused me of using it to recruit clients, and disabled my ability to read and send PMs.**
