Cohabitation document: Letter Date or relevant period?

Post by mkh » Tue May 05, 2015 6:25 pm

Hi, for a letter/bill to be acceptable for cohabitation proof, Does the date of the letter need to be within qualifying period ? or is it the relevant period for which the bill is applicable ? Can any expert shed some light on this?

For example, A council tax letter dated 6 march 2013 for April 2013-March2014. Can this be used for a qualifying period July 2013 to July 2015?

Also Please let me know if the following documents would be okay for my application in July 2015. I spread the the letters for every 4 months period.

1. a. HMRC letter, dated 31-Jul-2013, for overpaid Tax return for Dependent,
b. Water bill, dated 1-Oct-2013, to Main applicant
2. Joint Council tax bill, dated 7-Mar-2014, for 2014-2015
3. Joint Current account statement for last 3 months from LLoyds Bank, dated 6-May-2014
4. Joint tenancy agreement, Dated 6-SEP-2014, for Oct 2014-Sep 2015
5. a.NHS Appointment letter, dated 11-Jan-2015, to dependent, b. Amex credit card statement, 10-Jan-2015, for main applicant.
6. Poll cards to both applicant and dependent for elections on 7 May

Many Thanks

You can get a letter from council stating that you've been living with your dependant at the given address since your applicable date. This will help in your council tax query.

Thanks for your response. Could you please comment on my documents listed above, if they are good enough to meet the requirements.
