Applicability of New ILR Fee

Post by RRSB2012 » Sat Feb 27, 2016 12:41 am

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me when will the new fee for 2016 will be charged either:
a) appointments booked on or after 18th March 2016 OR
b) Appointments attended on or after 18th March 2016.

I am trying to book an appointment for 30th March 2016 and the system has charged £3800 for 2 persons. (£1900 per person). If the answer is (b) then will they charge me extra on the day of appointment or will they refuse my application?

I am currently on Tier 1 General and applying for ILR.

Thanks in advance.
I look forward to your help.
Best regards
R

Please don't give incorrect advice. They do not charge the extra or remaining fees on the appointment day. What you pay when you book online is all you pay.

T1G-2010 and Malik44,
Thanks a lot for your responses, really appreciate your help.

CR001, Thanks a lot for guidance.
Though your response is clear that they wont charge anything extra on the day of appointment, if I can please have a follow up question.

So I believe then the increase of fees applies to Appointments booked on or after 18th March 2016. So since I booked the appointment yesterday (appointment if for 30th March 2016), still the old fee of £1900 per person will apply to me rather than the new fee of £2275.

I am just worried that they shouldn't refuse my application saying I have not paid the correct fee.

Appreciate your time please.
Thanks

That would be correct. It has always worked like this in the past. Appointments booked and paid for before the fee increase are processed based on the old fees. Appointments booked and paid for on or after the date of the fee increase, pay the new fees.

You can only book PSC (PEO) appointments 42 days in advance.

However I had recently experienced that UKVI system is only showing Maximum 30 days in advance for Solihull and Cardiff and 3 weeks in advance for all other PSCs. Not sure if this is deliberate or if there is a glitch in the system.

Hope this helps.

Just to clarify, in order to avoid the fee increase is it the
-the payment that must be made before the new date,
-the appointment,
-or both?

I ask only because the payment and the booking date are not tightly linked. E.g. when you reschedule an appointment, you use the same payment from before. Not sure how rescheduling would work given the fee increase?

Hi CR001,

There is another thread on the same subject (link below) where some other experienced people confirm that we have to pay new fee for any bookings made before 18th March for dates after that ... Could you please claricy. Thanks for your time and help. MaiSaran

Can any one confirm the amount please on 18th/19th Mar16 who has taken appointment earlier.?

When I called help line on 18the mar 16, at 2pm, that person told me they don't have any update on the fees. SO far all my friends told me it is the same amount what you have paid while booking online.
Moderator/experts here can you please cross check and confirm this to wide applicants here. Many thanks.

Apologies Members for digging out an Old Post but the situation I am in is very similar to this one so I am tempted to get some help & information from RRSB2012.

Hello RRSB2012,
I am in the same situation currently as you were in last year.
I have paid the old fees on 04/04/17 and the fees have changed from today, 06/04/17. My Premium appointment is on 05/05/2017.

Did you had any problem last year on your Premium appointment day, did you had to pay the remainder of the new fees.

Awaiting your response.

Regards,
P/S
