Surrendring Indian passport

Hello forum,

I recently got my naturalisation certificate. And i already apply for british passport. But i have a few queries, i hope the forum member look at these queries and give solution please

1) can i apply for surrender certificate without my british passport?
2) Do i need to take an appoint or can do by post?
3) i read somewhere that you can apply surrender without british passport but i need to give declaration. Please provide me a template for declaration.

I received a call today and an email reply from the indian high commission. The lady over the phone confirmed that one can apply for surrender without british passport but to apply for oci, british passport is mandatory. A written statement would do stating that "british passport is under process".
