Step 1

Post by Artur111 » Mon Jul 25, 2016 2:44 pm

Hi everyone,

apologies if my question sounds stupid to you,
but shall my wife start completing the application for a Spouse visa using following link:
https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome

We'll be applying from Russia, so does she need to start her registration using the link above? I assume VAF4 is available after registering the account.

Thank you.

Follow this link through to 'apply'. It contains useful information:

In that case I'm not sure VAF4 applies, I think you are under EEA rules and just need to apply for the EEA Family Permit which is free.

Not my area though so wait for others...

Thank you Wanderer for your input.

Basically, I'm a Russian citizen (non-EU) and secured PRC.

As far as I know I cannot use European regulation to bring my wife (we married in 2014).
I believe I need to use UK Immigration laws as I'm (non-EU) settled person in the UK.
And my wife have to apply via UK immigration route to join me.

Correct if I'm wrong guys?

But if you don't have ILR or BC you can't use UK rules AIUI....

VAF4A - spouse settlement visa is correct if the OP has PR. He cannot sponsor a spouse on the EEA route.

Sure Casa, apologies.

So can I register an account and complete VAF4 on her behalf?

In addition to Casa confirmation on your second question, your spouse needs to sign the form, not you. You also cannot complete the section as her 'representative' as you are not a 'registered' or 'official' representative.

Thank you CR001,
I will complete the application and print it out.
I assume my wife will need to sign the hard copy physically not the soft copy online, won't she?

Morning everyone!

During registration it does ask "what visa type are you applying for?"
Should I go for:

SETTLEMENT -> SETTLEMENT -> WIFE?

There's no option like "spouse visa".

Thank you
