EU spouse Schengen visa checklist

Morning all

My wife has her visa appointment with VFS London for Swiss visa application, and I just want to make sure we have everything covered.

Wife is Pakistani national, travelling with myself (husband with British passport) and 18-month child (British passport holder).

This is the pack I have prepared for tomorrow:

1] Completed application form
2] two passport photos (wife)

3] Wife’s original Pakistani passport
4] Copy of passport main and signature page

5] Original UK BRP
6] Copy of both sides of BRP

7] Airline booking confirmation email/e-ticket
8] Hotel booking email and confirmation

9] Original UK marriage certificate
10] Copy of UK marriage certificate

11] My original UK passport
12] Copy of my UK passport

13] Authorisation letter for me to collect the passport on her behalf

Do I have everything covered or is there anything additional I should add?

Is there a need for a covering letter?

How does she finance the trip?

My wife is travelling as the spouse of an EU citizen (family member EU) so I don't need to fill in that section of the application.

Or have I misunderstood that section?

the fields marked * shall not be filled in by family members of EU, EEA or CH citizens

The points 7 and 8 in your posting are not needed if you write a signed statement about travelling together.
If you don't want to write one point 7 is sufficient.

i will recommend you to add your UK bank statement as well.

I don't think the swiss embassy in UK want to break the contract between Switzerland and the EU.

I have one final query on the Schengen form - what does #28 refer to?

28 Destination permit for the final country of destination, where applicable

It is for a transit visa.
For instance if you want to fly to the USA via a schengen country and your citizenship force you to have a schengen visa for the airport.
