Tier 2 extension -dependent visa-Outside UK

Post by Dites » Fri Oct 21, 2016 9:44 am

Hi,

I am the main applicant and have tier 2 visa expiring in Feb 2017. I will be applying for visa extension in January 2017. But my wife will be traveling to India at that time and will be staying there for 2-3 months. Can she apply for extension of Tier 2 dependent visa from India?

Thanks

Extensions are applied for within the UK.

For application outside the UK, it is an entry clearance visa.

Suggest apply for extensions for all before dependents travel.

But she has to travel as there is urgency and cannot be in UK for extension. Can she apply and if applied from India will it be considered as fresh application?

She can certainly apply later from India, no problem there. Do keep in mind that if you do intend to apply for ILR in the long run, then your wife will only be eligible after she has been your dependant for 5 years, and that 5 year count will start from the new entry clearance she gets.
