Canadian citizen looking to move Ireland

Post by zorrinn » Sat Mar 25, 2017 9:22 am

I'm a Canadian citizen, looking to move and live in Ireland.

Since I'm over 35, I cannot apply for holiday working programme.

I'm able to travel to Ireland and stay there without a visa for 6 month to look for opportunities.
I have 16+ years experience in the IT field.

Are there umbrella companies that can sponsor my work permit if I find contracting roles in Ireland?
Or is it easy to find big MNCs that could sponsor me?

Anyone done this before?

Because it's closer to my home country and family.

You should be aware of this limitation:
"The employer must employ you directly – this means that applications from recruitment agencies, agents, intermediaries or companies who intend to outsource or subcontract you to work in another company are not accepted."

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Thanks. That's a point I seem to have overlooked.

I'm a bit intrigued though, as many consulting companies such as Accenture, Hitachi, IBM... blah, blah, they all take on clients' projects and implement them using their consultants.

Thanks, nonetheless.
