Naturalisation anPassport processing

Post by hsyasin » Wed Apr 19, 2017 10:33 am

Hi all,
Just wondering if this is how naturalisation and passport through JCAP works..
But whats happened is, I applied through JCAP service on 3rd of April.. first the payment didn't go until about after more than a week, so payment gone for naturalisation on 12th and got a acknowledgemnet letter and biometrics dated 12th on 15th, so went for biometrics same day i.e. biometrics done on 15th.
Now today received a text from HMPO saying they've received my application and I should receive my passport in 6weeks..
But i thought, u first get ur approval letter/certificate and u then book ceremony.. then afterwards ur passport processing starts.
I'm thinking it wrong or this is how ur application gets processed when u apply using JCAP?

HMPO text is standard for "normal" applications, you will only receive your passport until after you have attended the citizenship ceremony because only then are you a British citizen.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
