@Talalo did you get second letter ? Have you emailed them what kind of response are they giving ?

I didn't get anything after acknowledgment of receipt of initial application ? I am getting standard email saying "continued to be processed .... "

Applied Oct 2016. got second stage letter 29 April.
email them 2weeks ago and was told my application is under consideration. did any one get same reply? This was there reply.

Your application is still under consideration and has not yet reached a
conclusion. While it is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this
office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached.

Regards,

Does any1 understand what stage this is place?

@ferocious12 I got the second stage letter back in March; Emailed them 1 month ago and they said that my app is still under consideration.

@amiamorgan I think you're still in the second stage.

Applied in August 2016 and got the second stage letter in February 2017 and still waiting for the approval. Emailed them last week and they told me that my application still in second stage and for this I contacted the local TD and asked him to try to get a proper update about my application. BTW, no court or welfare that could cause such delay and for this I am a bit concern about the application so I contacted the TD and explained everything to him.

It seems like things have gone very quiet from INIS as of late. On another topic someone mentioned hearing from INIS they that they had received a surge of applications in Mid March (Brexit / Article 50 time). I also read somewhere else that they stop sending out letters when prepping for a ceremony - next one is 19th June so maybe that's also holding things up. I only applied in January and haven't received second letter yet though so seeing as you all applied in October last year I'm not hopeful I will hear from them for a while!

I have received a letter from INIS reading as follows

As you do not meet the residency requirement your application is being processed on your Irish Association with a view to submitting your application to the Minister for decision.

What does it mean? I applied in Aug 2016 on old form. Got 2nd stage letter in Feb 2017 and now this letter. Originally I applied after 4.5 years based on Irish Associations. I sent them a letter after 5 years completed and told them that I didn't want any relief from Minister under section 16A anymore because I have now completed my 5 years of residence. Have they disregarded my letter and still considering it based on the situation when I applied?

Does it also mean they are preparing the file to submit it to the minister?

It looks as they didn't accept to change the base of your citizenship application cuz you didn't meet the residency requirement and for this they want to keep you on the Irish Association one.

It seems that you're in the advanced stage. And the final decision will be made by the minister given all the details of your app. Did you receive this update via e-mail?

@Tatalo, @Syjem thanks for your responses. I received this letter by post. This letter is NOT in response to any query from my side. Thx

Depends on the time of the year and if your application is complete but minimum time you should keep in mind is 8 weeks.

Just saw this on Irish Times. Seems like the sudden rush in applications is causing all the delays:

I applied in August 2016 and still no approval received.
Do you think that they have started sending approvals for the next ceremony which possibly could take place in Sept??

I hope so, as they usually start sending approvals only after the last scheduled ceremony passes and as soon as they disclose the next ceremony date.
