Got an ilr now, IHS refund?

Post by sliyk » Mon Aug 28, 2017 3:28 pm

Hi Guys,
I recently applied and got tier 2 visa on 2/8/2017. This was just so that I had a visa and a job to apply for ILR. I successfully applied for ILR on 24/8/2017. I want to know if I am eligible for any part of the IHS being refunded? If yes then who do I contact for it?

Thanks.

For how long did you apply tier 2?

I am not sure but they charge on an annual basis and once you are on that visa in the UK, you will not get it back,

Not sure, just my understanding, let see what others say.

You won’t get a refund if:
your visa application is successful but you don’t come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain or changing to another visa where you don’t need to pay the IHS
