Hi All,

Here is my timeline. Mine's was a straightforward case and I am surprised HO is taking so long to process my application.
I have started to worry about my VISA. Does anyone know or is in the the same situation waiting for a T2G extension for over 8 weeks. I know that the HO states it can take up to a maximum of 8 weeks. I have to fly out in 10 days and my tickets are booked. I have to attend a wedding which I cannot miss. I am not sure what needs to be done !

1. Type of application: Tier 2 General Extension
2. If switching, category changing (switching) from : N/A
3. Date of expiry of current leave: 13/02/2019
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 1
5. Rating of sponsor: A
6. SOC:
7. Location: London
8. Application method: Online
9. Submitted Application: 05/10/2017
10. Date application posted: 05/10/2017
11. Date application received at HO: 06/10/2017
12. Date payment debited: 05/10/2017
13. Payment mode: Credit Card
14. Ack. & BM letter issue date: 06/10/2017
15. Acknowledgement letter received: 06/10/207
16. Biometric letter received: 06/10/2017
17. Date of biometrics enrolment: 06/10/2017
18. Date of approval: STILL WAITING
19. Date of return of passport and other documents: STILL WAITING
20. Date (new) leave to remain valid from: STILL WAITING
21. Date BRP received: STILL WAITING

I have tried to call them and no positive response. Hi he online website still suggests awaiting decision forever. I have become highly restless ! Please suggest. Anyone please help.

Latest date you expect decision would be 5th or 6th Of December! From the date you applied it will take 2 months.

You applied in 5/10/2017 wait for another week.

Thanks for your reply. But is it not 08 weeks from the date of application. Every week is 5 days.

I have a flight to catch up on 08th. How will I manage to catch the flight if it gets only approved on 05th.

Hi Mak89,

Sorry to hear this and I know the frustration on this. tbh, no one can give you an exact date where your application will get processed. One of my friend applied for the extension and all the details are similar to yours. His application was showing "Awaiting Decision" for months and there was a sudden HO visit too.

In my learning, If you are applying for an extension (Tier2) and if that makes you closer to an ILR or an LR (IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL) , they are searching few things before the decision. For an example, your sponsor, your salary (Experienced worker should get a certain amount of a salary pa with a certain number of hours a week contract ), and etc. If they grant you the extension, it is clear you are heading to the ILR, LR or any sort of a settlement. They are not giving anything easily as we all know!

So I suspect that there will be a HO visit to your company anytime soon if they haven't visited yours recently! Just a guess with my experience. Better to be prepared for that!

Good luck and let us know if there are any updates. Cheers

Hi Mak89,

I think you will complete 8 weeks by 30/11/2017. If it's delayed, then HO will definitely contact you.
I received my approval withing 8 weeks. thanks to god..

If you have any query, I will suggest you to contact your HR or whoever is the authorized user of the SMS.
I did the same after 5 weeks as I was really worried. I provided all my details to my HR. HR sent an email to HO and even talked to them, HO support team clarified immediately there is no problem from his application and it's normal still within 8 weeks and asked me to wait till 8 weeks.

Also just to clarify, mine is not a straight forward case of extension under the same employer.

It's a switch to a new employer after 24 months. It's an A rated sponsor.

Please suggest.

Initially you mentioned your is a straight forward case, now saying not straight. why do you think so ?
You are changing your employer who is A rated. If RLMT is genuine and all the details were provided in the CoS, then I don't think there is any issue.

If you think anything fishy, you can tell here. Expert will be able to suggest more on this.

You can also check your visa application status using the link below :
https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... visastatus

Use IHS number as a reference. Mine was showing 'Awaiting Decision' before it changed to 'Decided'.

I meant its a straight forward case, its just not extension.

Its a change of employer. There is nothing fishy at all. Hope this helps.

Hi Mak89,

Did you receive any news on your passport? Mine is a similar straightforward case of Tier 2 ICT extension with the same employer and I have been waiting for 7 weeks now.

Regards,
Aastha.

Hi Mac89,

Did you get your visa now? I am extremely worried as well. I made my application for extension on 23rd Oct with two of my dependents. Its an application with the same sponsor with whom I was for last 3 years.

Hi guptaashtha,
As you said, mine will be an extension which will take me to ILR but till now there has been no HO visit to my NHS sponsor.

I was counting week wise and I am now just 7 weeks..will it come by 8 weeks at all?

I noted in the timeline, one person applied on standard route on 1/11/17 and got BRP on 8/12/17. That's in 5 weeks!!! That left me panicked. That persons visa expiry was 1/12/17. Mine is 31/12/17. Does this matter??

I have had a few people tell me that if it does not arrive this week it might get delayed until January because of the Christmas holidays and HO employees not being fully available during the holiday period.

Hi Aashtha,
I haven't heard anything yet. I applied one working day after yours. U applied on 20th, me on 23rd.
Yours is ICT, so I guess you should not have any issues.
Mine is general n it can take me to ILR--- I have a feel, they will try every means to check or prevent that.

2 months ago ICT visas came in 5 weeks. Now God knows what's wrong.
I am guessing Mac89 had a decision and so can't find him any more. I will look out for yours. Pl let me know.
By the way when is your current one expiring?

Hi Mgsbsb,

My current visa already expired on 17th November. I am aware that mine will not get rejected since its a straightforward ICT extension. It is the wait that is killing since it has been more than 7 weeks. I was supposed to travel to India second week of November but it has been a months delay and its also close to holiday season so there can be further delays if I do not get my passport by next week. This is the worry right now. Also in the post where people have been posting their timelines, most people got a response in 6 weeks. I am not sure what and why the delay is in my case.

Regards,
Aastha.

Yes I agree.
Its impossible to guess anything. Those whose visa expired on 11th Nov and also applied on 11th Nov, got visa by 8/12/17-- that's 4 weeks, whereas mine n yours is 7 weeks +.

Its extremely anxious wait and there is no guarantee we will get it by 8 weeks.

I hope u get it n then I will know that mine is coming!!
