When to apply for spouse visa extension

Post by CYC10 » Wed Nov 29, 2017 12:21 am

hi I have checked from the gov.uk website that the earliest i can apply is 28 days before my current visa expires. My current visa is valid until 10 Feb 2018. I have calculated that the 28 days before expiry is 14 Jan 2018 which falls on a Sunday. Can I make an appointment with the premium visa centre on 13 Jan 2018 (Saturday) or has to be from 15 Jan 2018 (Monday)? Appreciate if you can advise. Thank you.

Either date would be fine.

In the end of December will be 30 months since I've entered in UK but my BRP will expire in March. When do I need to extend my visa. I have read somewhere that I can do either 28 days before my 30months or 28 days before my BRP expired. I really want to do earlier . Would it be possible?

Thank you CR001 for the reply.
Hi dreamer2, wouldn't it be better to apply within 28 days before visa/BRP expiry? This will allow you to fulfill the 5 years probation period for the IDLTR application.

Thank you for your quick reply. Could you please explain what means: This will allow you to fulfill the 5 years probation period for the IDLTR application.

5 years residence on spouse visa before you qualify to apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain, also referred to by some as PR = permanent residence).

Birth Certificates submission

Post by CYC10 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 11:25 pm

Hi
I noticed that birth certificates are included in the checklist for documents submission. I have lost my birth certificate. My original passport did mention my place of birth and i have a letter from my home government confirming my date of birth, full name and nationality. Is this good enough? Does my spouse (the sponsor)
need to submit too?
I will be grateful if someone can advice asap. Thank you in advance.
