Updating address changes with UKBA after receiving ILR

Post by bigben1982 » Wed Jan 17, 2018 7:56 am

Hi,
I received my ILR last year.
Could some experts please let me know if I have to update address changes with UKBA? Couple of weeks back I moved to a new address for the very first time after receiving ILR and also same time changed my employer.

Not necessary as you are no longer under Immigration control.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

That does not seem to be correct.

As long as you have a BRP, you are required to update UKVI of the change of address.

It does not exclude settled persons.

Casa is correct.

Do click on the link 'have a BRP' which is for PBS Routes ONLY.
Report a change of address only
You can change your address without having to apply for a new BRP.

Which form you fill in depends on whether you:

have a valid BRP
have applied but haven’t had a decision letter

Fair enough, I stand corrected.

However, it is interesting on two accounts:

1) When I got my BRP for ILR, the letter/pamphlet with that informed me that I have to inform change of address (but that could be a standard one inserted with all BRPs)
2) When I moved residence couple of months back, I did report my change of address online. However, it was an online form and not the PDF that it seems to link to now (and a very old one at that :!: :!: ). I believe I started from the same site

1. It is a standard leaflet that gets sent out with all BRP cards.

2. No requirement to keep updating HO every time you move once you have ILR.

On DLR, I never had to notify UKVI of any change of address, there has never been any issue about that. I think you only notify if you are immigration control like when you report to immigration etc

I know it's an old topic, but just in case someone stumbles upon this, I just spoke to UKVI and they've suggested to update them with new address, even if one has ILR.

Please use the link : https://visa-address-update.service.gov.uk to do so.

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could give me advice regarding address changes. I have changed addresses 2 times in the last 2 1/2 years since my last Visa application. As you know for the visa application process, proof of cohabiting with your partner is necessary (6 each of you don’t have joint names on statements) My question is, do I need to provide proof of 6 each per person for EACH address? Or will I be ok to provide 6 each per person spreading across the 2 1/2 years (irrespective if address changed twice?)
