Dismissed two weeks after arrival on General Employment Permit: Urgent advice needed!!

Hi guys,

A friend is in desperate need for advice.
So he arrived Ireland and resumed work the next day. After two weeks, he was informed that the position for which he arrived is no longer available and as such he is no longer to continue working with the company.

My friend is worried he could be asked to leave the country but then, he has an employment visa that runs until April and a two year general employment permit tied to the same company that brought him to Ireland.

Please what are his chances with immigration and what exactly should he do regarding getting another job?

Any information regarding this issue will be helpful.
