EEA Marriage - Name Change or Not?

Hi,

I've had my EEA EFM card since 2016 as an unmarried partner to an Irish citizen (I'm American). We recently got engaged and will be getting married next year. I'm wondering if I'll need to change the name on my EEA card and passport or if I can just keep it as is? If I change it, is that an entirely new application for the card all over again?

I'd love to change my name when married but I really don't want to go through the long waiting process for a new card all over again. Anyone have any insight on this?
