Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa Initial Application Interview Questions

There's a great stickied topic at the top of this page for interview questions and EXCELLENT advice about accountancy requirements at the bottom. I was wondering, is there a similar one for the initial application as the thread focuses more on renewals?

I've done quite a lot of Googling today and there are lots of lists of old questions - it would be quite useful to have an up-to-date list and I'd be happy to maintain that list if people are willing to add their experience and questions after their interviews.


Tier 1 Entrepreneur Example Interview Questions 2018
These are an example of some of the questions you might be asked and should only be used as a guide to what you might be asked.

Immigration History
How many times have you visited the UK?
What was the purpose of those visits?
How many relatives do you have in the UK?
Will you be applying for settlement or returning to your country of origin?
When was the last time you visited the UK?
Was this application completed by you?
Have you ever violated any immigration laws?

Qualifications/Experience
What experience do you have in running this type of business?
Are you educated in this field?
Why do you want to do this business?
What due-diligence have you performed in regards to starting a business in the UK?
Are you applying as part of a team? (How did you meet your partner?)
What will your role be in the business?
What is your current job?

Business Plan
What evidence do you have that your services are required?
Who wrote your business plan?
What insurances will you need to operate your business?
What kind of premises will you need?
What is the minimum wage in the UK?
Can you briefly explain your business plan to me?
What is your marketing strategy and how will you market your business?

Viability of the Business
How much profit will you make per sale?
Can you tell me about your competition?
What part of the UK do you intend to start your business in?
Why did you choose this location?
How will you support your family whilst the business is still new?
What advantages does your business have over the competition?
What profit will you make in the first year?

Financials
Who is funding the business?
Where did the money come from?
Is the money held in the UK or overseas?
How will you invest the money?
How long has the money been in your possession?
What is the VAT threshold for this year?
What are your startup costs?

Have you had your interview?

I'm not applying but a friend did a few months ago. I helped them with their application and since then someone else has asked me to help them with their application (as a favour) so I have a keen interest and would really like to maintain an up-to-date list so that everyone can benefit.

Some additional questions from piercebody.

These questions are important because they're not about the business in the UK and quite frankly, I think these questions are much harder than those about your business (because you should already know everything about your business).

1.What will happen to your current position/activity after you come over to UK
2.Why you choose UK not other countries.? If yes explain why you choose decide to move to UK..?
3.How your presence in UK work better for you as well as what British people will benefit from your business..
4.How did you accumulate your initial investment 200k.?
5.who are all your competitors and what edge you have over them..?
6. What is your sales plan to get new customers?
( don't use common practices as they may say it is vague answers)
7.How do you split for what is your plan for your 200k.??
