Over 65 - English language and Life in UK Test

Post by jinkazama_11 » Mon Dec 03, 2018 3:03 pm

Hi
Can someone please confirm if applicant ages 65 or over are exempt from both English Language Requirement and Life in the UK test when applying for Citizenship using form AN.

The application form AN is a bit confusing and asking following information on Page 7.

1.22 How do you intend to satisfy the requirement to have sufficient knowledge of language
and life in the UK? See pages 12 to 16 in the accompanying Booklet AN.
I have passed the Life in the UK test and attach confirmation:
The test number is:
And either
I wish to claim exemption on the basis of my age.

Based on Q1.22 and "And either" clause, it seems Life in the UK test is required in all cases and exemption is only for English language test for over 65s.

Can someone please confirm this?

Thank you
