Travel while ILR SET(M) application is being processed

Am i correct that my passport will be held for the duration that the ILR application is being processed?

My concern is what happens if i need to travel in the even of an emergency - do you know if there is any provision made for this?

If you apply by post yes it is held till a decision is made.

If you apply using the new service, you keep hold of documents.

You should not travel out of the UK while ILR application is pending. Your application will be considered withdrawn if you do and if your visa has expired, you won't have a means to reenter the UK.
