New Set (O) online form query - Urgent please

Post by ABasu » Wed Jan 23, 2019 12:19 pm

Hi Guys,

My wife and I are preparing our ILR application and plan to submit it this weekend. I am stuck at one question.

There is a question that says "Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?". I responded Yes to this since she has lived in India.
After that, the system asks for from and to dates for these other countries. Not a problem again.

My question in this. My wife has been in and out of the UK since 2009. She came to visit me on a tourist visa for 3 months, then came for a month on business visa (her company sent her) and then moved to the UK in 2013. We went back to India in 2013 and came back in 2014 on her Tier 2 General.

Do I need to list all of these dates in the application? Also, is there some proof required relating to these questions.

Getting a bit confused here so would appreciate if someone could share his/her experience or the correct answer to this question.

After that, the system asks for from and to dates for these other countries. Not a problem again. You have to list the country of birth and any countries she LIVED OUTSIDE UK only. NOT short visit trips.

My question in this. My wife has been in and out of the UK since 2009. She came to visit me on a tourist visa for 3 months not required as the question excludes UK. Anyways she was living in India then, then came for a month on business visa (her company sent her) and then moved to the UK in 2013So basically she was living in india from birth till 2013 given on the info you have provided ofcourse unless she hasnt liver anywhere else. We went back to India in 2013 and came back in 2014 on her Tier 2 General. This needs to be mentioned again

Do I need to list all of these dates in the application? Also, is there some proof required relating to these questions.
I am sorry I overlooked the visa category hence my last post. You would have to give proof for the absences during the 5 year qualifying period. Is the the main applicant or dependent? In dependents case there is no evidence required

Getting a bit confused here so would appreciate if someone could share his/her experience or the correct answer to this question.

Thanks!

I am guessing visa stamps (entry and exit) and possibly airline tickets (to and from the UK) would suffice?

Employer letter will not be the evidence here because these are periods BEFORE the current leave started. Employer letter is used for absences within the qualifying period.

There is NO requirement to provide absence letter or evidence prior to the tier 2 period being claimed for ILR. For ILR based on 5 years tier 2, only the absence in that time is relevant.

You are overthinking.

You still need to answer the question about countries lived in though.

Yeah that should be fine. We have added the chronological sequence of her moving between India and the UK and have the stamps and tickets to prove it, if required.

Its not required, only for the 5 year qualifying period, nothing before that period as CR said also.
