Cancelling ILR application submitted online

Post by logeevaghela » Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:15 pm

Hello All,

I am on Tier-2 general visa and on route to apply for ILR (5 years route).

I realized after I made an online application on 14th Feb that I am eligible to apply only after 20th Feb (28 days qualification period). Just so confusing about date of application and date of submission. I haven't made an appointment yet to submit my documents (Through Sopra Steria). After confirming with solicitor, I was advised to cancel the application and request for refund. Once I receive, I shall re-apply to avoid any chances of rejection.

I have wrote to UKVI (To cancel application and requesting refund), swansea yesterday and now waiting for them to get back to me.

My questions:

1) Has anyone passed through similar situation?
2) If answer to question 1 is yes, did they receive refund?
3) If answer to question 2 is yes, how long and if there was any deduction i.e., admin fees.

Waiting anxiously.

Regards,
Logee

Some of people in your situation went ahead and did not cancel their application and were approved.

URGENT - ILR - Tier 2 (5 Years route) - Variation of an application

Post by logeevaghela » Mon Feb 25, 2019 2:31 pm

Hello All,

Need an urgent help to deal with my situation.

TIER 2 Visa granted on: 30th March, 2014
Applied online for ILR: 14th Feb. 2019

I haven't booked an appointment to submit any supporting documents yet (I meant to do through Sopra Steria website). I wanted to do that after 20th Feb. 2019 due to my qualificaiton period starts after 20th Feb. 2019. Then I realized, online application date is your date of application. Due to confusion between appointment date and application date, I believe I applied week earlier. Hence, I sent an application withdrawal letter (On 20th Feb. 2019) to HO stating the error I made and requesting refund and my intentions to re-apply once I get refund.

Now my questions are:

1) What is the best option to go with i.e., wait for first application to be voided (Which I am not sure when will happen)

2) Should I re-apply and deal with the first application's refund later?

3) Would second application will be considered variation to first application?

I am really confuse here as the helpline/guideline is even confusing and very complicated.

Any help is really appreciated.

Regards,
Logee

Today I just want to confirm that I received my ILR. Re-applied Second Application. Didn't do validation checks for the first application.

The first application I made, I cancelled it. Got refund today.

Please contact me if anyone has any issues regarding.

Good luck everyone !!!

I filled in a wrong application form and paid for the application fee and appointment fee.

I supposed to apply Indefinite Leave to Remain for my wife however I filled in a Family Route online application form.

I noticed when I paid the fees.
My wife’s visa’s not due till August of 2021, however she is qualified ILR. I’m really frustrated that I paid a service which is not needed at all.

I couldn't find any options to cancel my online application
How did you managed to cancel it?

You have to withdraw the application asap as it might upset your wife’s ILR clock and may reset it to zero.

I contacted them via post. They never replied. However I got refund within 4 weeks from date of application. Make sure you don't go for validation check I.e. Passport id verification process.

Re-apply simultaneously and keep chasing side by side for first application.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.
Can you please send the address used to contact them as I have 3 different addresses when I called them for information. I don't know which one to use.
Many thanka
