Tier 2 (General) to ILR and 28 days period.

Post by blueskies89 » Sun Dec 23, 2018 7:53 pm

Dear All,

My 5 years on Tier 2 (General) is completing on 25 April, 2019. Can you please advise do I have to complete 5 years in full on Tire 2 and apply for ILR after 25th April, 2019 or can I apply for ILR 28 days before 25th April, 2019 i.e. towards the end of March 2019 i.e. 28th March, 2019?

Your responses will be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Tier 2 (General) to ILR Requirement.

Post by blueskies89 » Sun Jan 13, 2019 11:04 pm

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 (General) and my 5 years are completing on 28th March, 2019 to apply for Indefinite Leave To Remain. I have filled my ILR application and came across the below requirement in the application form. (Before Tier 2 I had a student visa).

For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 2 migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules. For further information concerning the evidence required, please refer to the Tier 2 migrant policy guidance on our website

I have read Tier 2 migrant policy guidance and there are a lot of documents to provide when you switch from Student visa to Tier 2 (General). My question is do I need to provide all the documents again when I first applied for Tier 2 or only a subset of documents would be enough and if you could please advise what subset of documents will I need to provide.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Reading from what others suggested previously on this forum, that question is not applicable if you complete 5 years on Tier 2. It's only applicable to those who are combining tier 1+ tier 2 + so on, to reach the required ILR eligibility.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Hi All,

Thanks to srsw for answering previously. I am asking this again because I will be posting my application soon and I want to make sure I surely don't need to provide any other document?

Could someone else please confirm do I need to provide any document to meet the below requirement or not?

For the period before you were granted leave as
a Tier 2 migrant, documents showing that you
met the relevant requirements of the
immigration rules. For further information
concerning the evidence required, please refer
to the Tier 2 migrant policy guidance on our
website

P.S. I have completed my 5 year of Tier 2 (General) with the same employer in the same role and I meet the minimum salary threshold.

Many Thanks,

The previous answer you got hasn't changed. If you have only been on 5 years Tier 2, nothing extra to send!!

Tier 2 to ILR - 28 Days Period

Post by blueskies89 » Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:18 pm

Hi,

I will keep it short.

I was grated Tier 2 (General) on 24 April 2014 and started my job on 6th May, 2014.

To apply for ILR shall I countdown 28 days from 24 April 2014 when I was granted a visa or shall I countdown 28 days period when I started my job?

Many Thanks,
