British passport application return of documents

Hi guys !
I would like to apply for my 1st UK passport - How long does it take for passport office to return my old passport from Your experience? I would like to apply ASAP however I’ve got booked holiday in approx 2 weeks .

It typically takes around 2 weeks (between 10 and 16 days) from the day you mail it in, so there’s a risk you may not get your documents back in time.

If you became a citizen more than a year ago, it’s likely to take longer because you are more likely to be invited for an interview.
