PBS dependent visa extension

Post by Sach100 » Sat Jun 08, 2019 10:15 am

Hi,

My wife applied for a dependent visa after I got ILR. The VISA she got is called 'PBS dependent leave to remain'. Now I want to extend her visa.

Can you please suggest which form should I use to apply for her extension?
Is it (form FLR (M))? If yes, then is it only an online form?

Thanks a lot for your help.

The visa she applied for after you got ILR, was it an extension withing the UK of a previous pbs dependent visa?? What is her full immigration history and relevant visa dates?

Hi,

First of all thanks a lot for such a prompt reply.

She got her first visa from 12th Dec 2014. At that point I had a Tier 1 Visa (this was due to expire on July 2016). So she got a Visa of one and half years.

Then, in 2016 (august) she applied for the first extension. And she got this for 3 year till august 2019 (So total 4 and half years). Just fyi I had got my IRL just before she applied for her VISA.

Now I need to extend her visa again just for 6 months :) .

Please let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks once again.

You don't state when you got ILR or on what basis (5 years tier 1 or 10 years long residence)?? Presumably 5 years tier 1.

She can apply for a PBS Dependent extension again, it will be a 3 years extension. Once she meets the 5 year requirement for ILR in December, she is free to apply.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for you reply

Yes I applied for ILR via 5 years residense under Tier 1. But I have become a citizen now.

My Initial question was which form to use. Shall I use (form FLR (M)) for her extension? If yes can you please tell me if this is only online?

Also can you please through some light on the fees (prostal and in person)?

Thanks once again.

NO!! This will reset her clock to zero for ILR. She must apply on the PBS Dependent form.

Yes.

Unclear from your posts what category of Tier 1 you held, ie Entrepreneur or General???

Immigration Health Surcharge

Post by Sach100 » Fri Aug 23, 2019 4:26 pm

Hi,

I am a British citizen at the moment. I am applying PBS dependent visa extension for my wife.

In the form for paying for IHS there is a field called 'Visa Expiry Day' in the section where my details have to be entered. Now as I am a British citizen I don't have a visa and hence no visa expiry date.

This is a mandatory field and not letting us proceed with the payment of IHS.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Simply enter a date 3 years from now to get the correct IHS of £1200.

Also please stick to one topic for all your questions. Topics merged!!

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

She doesn't need a visa for 3 years. She would be eligible to apply for ILR on completion of 5 years this December (more information in the communication above). Any excess IHS payment is not eligible for a refund on the application of ILR.

So should I make up a date for 6 months or 1 year for my visa expiry? Moreover, we have to declare that all the information that we are providing are true. If we enter a made up date (which we have to) we are breaching that.

Thanks once again.

A PBS dependent visa extension is granted for 3 years as stated in the immigration rules. You cannot choose or pay for a lesser time validity.

No breach. Ho is aware of the glitch and many have done it and been successful.

You can't change the standard IHS payment into your desired amount rather have to pay in full otherwise you even can't be able to proceed to biometrics.

Thanks a lot for the information.

I have some further questions.

There were 2 options
1. Regular service where the decision is given in 8 weeks time. Price 1898 pounds.
2. Priority service.

I went for - Regular service where the decision is given in 8 weeks time. Price 1898 pounds. Now the application process has changed a lot compared to what I did for my wife's application 3 years back. This is where I need help.

First of all
After the online application is completed it says the below
"Mandatory Action
Attend an appointment to provide your document and biometrics........
Then there is a button - 'Book an appointment'"

On clicking the button the applicant lands on www.ukvcas.co.uk and have to book an appointment and upload the scanned supporting documents.

There are the following options for an appointment:
Core Service Points
Enhanced Service Points
Premium Lounges
VIP Visit
Mobile Pop-up Appointment

Question 1: Which option should I select?
To my understanding for my wife's application Core service will be fine as I will be uploading the scanned document on the same website.

Question 2: (Assuming that core service is fine for me)
Will a Service Point having the following service will be enough?
Digitisation
Biometric Capture

Question 3:
Will all the supporting documents (original/copy) for the application be verified in these Service points on the day of the appointment?

Question 4:
Previously I submitted my wife's original Passport with the application (used postal service last time). Is this no longer required?

Question 5:
Do we no longer need to provide photos any more?

Question 6:
My wife's visa expires 31st of August 2019. I have already submitted the online application form. But have not taken the appointment through UKVCAS yet. Do you see any risk?

Thanks a lot for all your support
