UKVI - overcharging fees

Post by kashmeregoat » Mon Sep 09, 2019 10:26 am

Dear All

I have recently applied for my wife's spouse visa application, non-eea, priority.

home office published documents state a fee of £2096 For the application, and £1200 for the IHS.

I have been charged £2238.33 & £1281.49 (minus the non-sterling transaction fee)

Anyone else had a similar experience? the online application stated a fee of 430350PKR. Which at the time of application, was equivilent to £2241, when infact it should have been £2096.

Your responses will be greatly appreciated

Regards

They are not 'overcharging'. It based on exchange rate fluctuations which HO only update about once a month. They use the rate on https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/

That aside, a spouse visa fee is £1523, so not sure what you have applied for. If you have paid extra for priority etc, this is not the 'visa fee' but a service charge for VFS.
