Return Old BRP

Post by UzomaPhilips » Sat Oct 12, 2019 6:28 am

Hello,
Got my new extension brp for the 5 year flrm route.

Do I have to cut up and return the old expired brp for my first flrm application? And to what address?

Absolutely no guidance on this in the decision letter.

If I don't, could future applications be impacted?

Thanks

Don't know about impact on applications but my understanding is you can be fined for not returning old BRPs, according to my decision letter anyway.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

That only applies where you have received certificate of British citizenship.

OK, I guess the FLR(M) decision letter was wrong then.

You mean I break it ! is that possible ! can' I just return it as it is without cutting it, cause I assume they would need it for future purposes

The letter you have likely clearly says to cut it in half (with scissors) and return. BRP has been cancelled. What purpose do you believe HO needs it whole and in tact?

You are perhaps overthinking this completely!!
