Claiming Universal Credit

Post by ilrmumbai » Thu Oct 31, 2019 1:00 am

Dear Guru,

I am British Citizen. Claiming Child Benefit under my name. Working Tax credit under joint names with my wife. She is on Spouse visa.
I have a British Child also another child on Depended visa.

I am currently not in good financial shape. Looking to claim Universal Credit.

Could someone please advise if this would affect my wifes ILR application in future?

Gov.uk website isnt very clear on this issue.

Thanks in Advance

How can you be claiming the benefit Working Tax Credit, when in previous posts you said you earn 26k on PAYE plus thousands in self employment?

Hi,

I am unemployed now.
I assumne you were still employed and had you self employment too when you applied for visas for your wife and her daughter 12 months ago?

You were earning too much to have Working Tax Credit.

If you are now saying that since then you have lost you PAYE job and you don't have your Self employment anymore, then you don't qualify to be able to claim Working Tax Credits because you (and I assume your wife too) are not working.

I don't understand how you are claiming the Working Tax Credit benefit???
