Referee Requirements for a Child Applicant

Post by aja » Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:29 am

Hello,
Im registering my child via MN1 form.
Status, Child is on Tier 2 Dependent visa.
Child born in UK in 2015
I obtained ILR in June 2019 via T2G route.

Upon Completing the application online, in the referee declaration form that needs signing, by the refree it states the following :
"Where the applicant is a child applying, one referee should be a professional who
has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health
visitor, social worker or minister of religion. "

Is this mandatory for the referee to meet one of the criteria and what option have others used for applying via MN1 recently please ?
Thanks

Would a primary school teacher who has known the child for only 3 months be fine as referee ?
or
would the Nursery teacher who has known for atleast a year be fine as a referee please ?
or any other suggestions ?

Based on this information : One referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion

Any one of the above referee should be fine

Thanks for the replies.

In the referee form, is it the photo of the applicant ( child ) to be pasted or is it the referee's photo please ?

As the confusion lies in the wordings.
In 1st para it refers to the applicant.

in 3rd para it talks about the referee .
-------------------------------------
Passport photo
On the back of the applicant’s photograph, please write
their full name and date of birth. The photograph should
then be glued into the space aside.

There are rules about what your photograph should look
like. To find out more about these rules, go to
https://www.gov.uk/photos-for-passports

This part of the form is to be filled in by the applicant’s referees once their
photograph has been attached, as explained above.
