Dependents visa extension

Post by Mak111 » Fri Dec 06, 2019 8:05 pm

Dear senior members;
I would appreciate your advise regarding the following:
1. I came to the UK on Tier 2 for 3 years from 2/1/2017 until 1/1/2020.
2. Family Had a Tier 2 Dependent Visa PBS from 16/1/2017 til 15/1/2020.
However I had a better job opportunity later the following year, which a changed the employer with a new 12 months COS which was extended a couple of times.
at the time I did not change the visa for my dependents.
The current situation is : My current visa expires in 12/4/2020, and my employer is issuing a new COS for another 12 months.
A.The HR is not willing to issue the COS early ( they are Aiming to issue that in the 13/1/2020) as they said it can not be issued before 3 months from my visa expiry date ( is that true?). is there a way to apply earlier than the 13/1/2020 with A COS of a start date of 12/4/2020?.
B. I am worried that delays will happen and my family visa will be curtailed, should I apply now for extension for them ( from 15/1/2020 until 12/4/2020) to avoid the hassle?, and then apply again with the new COS for us together for another 12 months?.
C. if I did point B Would I have to pay the IHS for 3 years twice for dependents?, or is there a way around this?!.

thank you all for your help.
M

I suggest applying just before your dependents visa expiry.
very minimal documentation for Extention, you should submit the form online a day before 15th Jan.

thanks for your reply.
I am aiming to apply the same day the COS is issued. however is it the date of online application or the receipt of application by home office that matters?.
and is it true that employer can not submit the COS before 3 months?. because if they can it will be very helpful and gives my time to apply!.
thanks again

Online submission date is application date.
my understanding is that, they get cos anytime, there is no time restrictions.

thank you,that is very helpful.
employer agreed to issue the COS on the 10th of January, and I will apply for us all in the 13th of January ( within the 3 months from start date of new COS of 13/4/2020 ).
I hope that will work fine.
wish me luck.

off note: tried to speak to home office help line, they were completely useless and had no idea about timings!!!!!!!!!! so much of advice.
