Expertise/Experience suggestions required please.

1. Can we apply Citizenship based on 5 years residency married to EU spouse before Retention of Residency (EU5)?
2.

We are getting divorce in a month and I shall apply EU5 form first and then EU3 but I will complete my 5 years in Aug 2020. Below are the timeline,

Got married: June 2015
Stamp4 EUFAM: Aug 2015- Jan 2021
Separated: July 2016, Documented: Dec 2019
Expected Divorce: April/May 2020
Expected EU5 form submission: May/June 2020

Before applying citizenship you would need retention of your residence card EU5(since you are divorcing) and then EU3.
There are people on this forum who are waiting years for an answer of a permanent residence card.
Have you informed the minister about your saperation yet ?
For EU5 you would need a decree of divorce.

INIS is regularly updated regarding separation and any changes in my activity and I am about to get my divorce decree in a month or two and then apply for EU5.

I heard different user stories where Citizenship can be applied once 5 years is completed even before EU5 if divorced but I am not exactly sure about it.

Yeah true, there are people waiting from years for permanent card and also there are people who got in months time, trying to be positive.

Well you can apply for naturalisation soon after you are eligible.
But your visa is expiring in jan.2021 so the question is what will happen after that?
Naturalisation office will ask you for visa info.
For an extension you must fill out EUTR3.
You are right, some people got their approval in a few months and many are waiting for years for an answer.
Its a long and painful process.
When you informed the minister about your saperation what was their reply?

Waiting years? Are we talking about EU3 or EU5 that’s taking potentially years?

I was thinking to send EU5 & EU3 in April/May and Naturalisation after I am eligible from Aug 2020, that's a good point what if EU3 application is delayed and there might be a issue with Citizenship.

I informed them about separation in 2017 and they suggested me to apply EU5 soon after divorce.
