Citizenship, letter from deparment of justice, what is mean?

Post by Mayamaya » Tue Feb 04, 2020 1:35 pm

I just got this letter from deparment of justice.. i am gettimg same respond almost a year.. what is mean of this?

I am directed by the Minister for Justice and Equality to refer to your
correspondence received in this Office.

Your application for naturalisation is currently being processed in the
normal way with a view to establishing whether you meet the statutory
conditions for the granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the
Minister for decision when processing is complete. As the processing
requirements and the time taken to complete the necessary checks vary from
case to case, it is not possible to indicate when a decision will be given
in respect of your application. While good progress has and continues to be
made in reducing the large volume of cases on hand, the nature of the
naturalisation process is such that for a broad range of reasons, some
cases will take longer than others to process

We will be in touch with you in relation to the application in due course.

Regards

Generic.
Second stage, etc doesn’t really matter as many receive their approvals without the second stage letter.
I’m got the same letter but was told on the phone today that they have everything they need, that my file is complete but was not submitted to the minister yet.
What is important now is that you got your reference number and receipt- just a waiting game after that!

Actually no- she said that I won’t make it to the one in March but should (but cant confirm) make it to the one in July.

Looks like no more will be sent to the minister for approval or those that will be approved are with the minister. Makes sense- election in a few days and it’ll take time for them to settle in the next one.

Waiting game indeed. Beyond our control. People have been waiting for 3 years or more and my heart goes out to them. A big lesson for me on patience!

Any visa I need for the travels planned upto July is still valid in my passport but my GNIB will run out in July and I’ll have to ensure I get a stamp in my passport prior to all that.

What’s your timeline like? When did you apply & on what basis, when was it acknowledged, etc?

Yes, it truly would be nice if they could be more transparent.

I reckon with the changes in the new application requirements (submitting doctors letter, police clearance cert, etc), it would streamline everything a whole lot more, making it more straightforward.

I’ve copied/pasted my timeline from the ‘2019 citizenship application timeline’ thread- maybe you’d like to share your timeline there? I know you’re new to the board. It’ll help with the statistics that a member here (Markem) comes up with. It beckoned me to change the country flag too as s/he has one that has a graph with the average application time of various nationalities here. :)

Application Based On: 6.5 years residence, Non-EU Stamps 1 & 4.
Applied On: 24/06/2019
Application received On: 25/06/2019 (AnPost tracking)
Acknowledgement + Passport returned: 25/06/2019
Fee receipt + Reference Number: 14/10/2019
Second Letter: 05/12/2019
Awaiting On Approval: Pending
Date of Ceremony: Pending

Got the exact same generic email and we are waiting for more than 2 years. I don't think it means anything other than "Don't expect an approval soon!"
