Update records

Post by Echinol » Thu Aug 27, 2020 6:53 pm

Hi all,

I hope you are all well and safe during this pandemic.

I am holding ilr since February and next year planning to apply citizenship but I have two questions:

1-I’m moving house next month should I update any record?
2-i renewed my passport should I advise home office about this as well?

Btw I’m non-eu citizen and holding BRP.

Thanks for your answers.

Employer address

Post by Echinol » Sat Oct 10, 2020 6:34 pm

Hello all,

I will apply citizenship next year February and I have a question. My ILR route was sole rep and I am not sure which address should I put on formal employer address? Company head office address outside of the UK or subsidiary address here? Any experienced member advises appreciated.

Thanks.

Why do you need employer letter for AN application? Its not needed in this case.

Referees

Post by Echinol » Wed Jan 06, 2021 6:22 pm

Hi all,
I will make citizenship application next month and I need your advises. For two referees I have two options; one professional is not British but living and director for a vat company in the uk, and other referee is working in this company she is naturalised British. Or I could put one of my other colleague he is accountant as a professional referee and other one my friend she is notary. Which one should I choose? And do you think which one will be more helpful.
Thanks.

It's not really a matter of a referee being helpful ...
Both referees can be professionals, or choose one professional and the other referee.

Hi all again,

I just chose referees but I just want to ask you is it making differences (timeline wise) choose both referee British or choosing professional referee not British?

Thanks.

Follow the guidance. It does not matter if both are British or not. As long as referees meet the requirements non-British referees are same as British referees. No difference in processing speed.

Referee form date

Post by Echinol » Tue Jan 26, 2021 9:03 pm

Hi all,

The date on referee form must be how many days before online application? A month is too long? I didn’t find anything written on guidance. So if I will apply 21st of February, and referees signed and send them back to me next week, is it still acceptable? Or should I need wait till w/c 15 February.

Thanks.

Previous job

Post by Echinol » Mon Feb 08, 2021 5:39 pm

Hi all,

On online form when filling asking previous job or jobs, I have a problem when I first arrived to the UK. Accountant didn’t open scheme on time so on Hmrc record my job starting 1/4/2015 but i have two payslips for February and March 2015 I realised different PAYE reference. Should I put these two months on application form or can I start from 1/4/2015?

Thanks.

Application form question help

Post by Echinol » Tue Feb 16, 2021 8:30 pm

Hi all,

One question on application form I need some help “If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application?” What kind of special circumstances is it asking for?

Thanks.

If you cannot meet one or more statutory requirements (for example excessive absences, serious good character issues, etc) the application would automatically fail - so applicant could try and explain why they should still be approved. I understand this is really for areas where even discretion wouldn't normally be allowed. For the majority of applicants the answer is no.

And I read somewhere job requirement for citizenship is not mandatory. Is it correct?
