CoS Date and Joining Date

Greetings.

I live in UK and work for company X on a Tier 2 General Visa ( now skilled worker visa ).

I got a job and my new employer Y has obtained a CoS. CoS start date is April 19th. However, the UKVI appointment is on April 15th. My new employer Y is using the fast service and assuming that it works fast the result will be known lets say by April 19th.

My current employer X has a one month notice period. So, that would mean I can join only on May 19th. However, that is more than 28 days since the CoS start date.

What should I do ? Any suggestions ?

You may ask your new employer to add the sponsor note to update the start date.
There can be change of date upto 28days from the original start date if I am not wrong.

So, the CoS start date cannot be changed ?

Hi, I have similar question. Does this mean that I am still allowed to work for the next month after I hand in the notice period to the old company (X) ?

I will try and answer and share my experience.

Before biometrics appointment, the joining date in the CoS can be updated. I requested my employer to change the joining date before I went for my biometrics appointment. It worked.
