Anything to do with my ILR if my passport expires?

Post by stitaprajna » Sun Jul 25, 2021 7:56 pm

I have an ILR/PR (Biometric Residence permit card).
I have been out of UK since Feb 2020. My home country passport expired in Nov 2020. I have neither been able to get back to UK nor been able to renew my passport so far. I plan to renew my passport in coming months.
My question is, above being the situation, does expiry/renew of passport affect/invalidate my ILR?

Is there anything I need to do after renewing/getting a new passport? I guess passport and ILR are not tied to each other so nothing needs to be done.

By when should I get back to UK so that I do not have any issues with my entry? Please also let me know if I have to worry about anything given my time away from UK and passport expiry/renew.

Thank you for your kind suggestions.
Many Thanks,
Stit

ILR is lost if you are absent for 2 or more years. Plan accordingly.
