BRP renewal time

I need to apply for renewal of my son's BRP. It expired September 2021.
How long does the renewal process take?

It can take anywhere between 8 weeks and 6 months.

The gov.uk website mentioned an expedited service by paying £500 extra and £800 extra. Do these apply for BRP renewal??

No. BRP renewal is not an immigration application. There is no priority service
