Information about citizenship i need help

Post by Baba786 » Tue Jun 14, 2022 4:37 pm

Hi i need this information please if anyone can help me with it.

My family is on subsidary protection status in Ireland from last 3 years and my wife gave birth to my baby this june 2022. Me and my wife lives in Ireland and we were on visitor visa in UK. We went uk on holidays and she gave birth to my child in UK.

My Question
Is my baby eligible for Irish citizenship?
Can my baby apply for dual citizenship? I mean any status in UK? As child born in UK.

Please reply me with accurate information. I really need help and support.

Presumably you paid for the birth as visitors don't get free NHS?

Not if the child was born in the UK.

Not British citizenship no. Simply being born in the UK doesn't confer British citizenship. Unlikely the child will qualify for a status in the UK if living in Ireland.

None if they don't live in the UK.

The bad news, that your child could be obligated to get an entry visa back to Ireland from UK, and need any passport for this.
The good news, if you child can't obtain any other citisenship by birth, than can be qualified to have local one.
